Before more people misunderstood "KVETCH" as a person name, perhaps I should explain the meaning a little.
Kvetch actaully meant to complain and whine. This blog named "Kvetch Haven" so that I can complain a little, whine a little about life. Of course, this blog will not be solely on constant whinning and complain.
Silent Your Blog Unless You Pay

Are you ready to pay for the songs you are playing now on your blog? If you are, prepare to fork out a fees of SGD 1000 for playing 10 (or less) songs or SGD 10 000 for not more then 50 songs on your blog.
According to the news report from TODAYonline, this is a new rule that is being implemented in Singapore on 1st Jan 2006. The fees do not include reproduction rights, where a separate licence must be obtained.
Composers and Authors Society of Singapore (COMPASS) — a non-profit public company which deals with music copyright and the usage of musical works said that this development is to further protect and serve the needs of composers, lyricists and publishers.
According to Dr Edmund Lam, chief executive officer of COMPASS, "Currently, the trend is that we see an increasing number of bloggers that copy music into their web pages without obtaining the legitimate corporate licenses." He continued and told the press that "While we (COMPASS) have not taken any action against any infringement at this stage, we will start a massive effort to educate people on this new ruling."
Under the Copyright Act, a person found guilty of infringing intellectual property rights can be fined up to $10,000 per article or jailed up to five years, or both.

I might be standing at a selfish point of view ( from composers' and artistes' angle), but am I really distributing the music that is produced by them? Think of it in another way, the bloggers, aka us, who played the music in the background are helping them to promote their music. If the songs that they compose are not appealing why would we bother to load it in our blog and let visitors to listen and enjoy their products and get the CD from the nearby CD shop?
Well, maybe many people, who are against the distribution of music online, might be cursing and swearing at me now for being ignorant to their hardhip in producing a piece of music.
This is just some of my thought, nothing wrong with blogging out what's in my mind, I hope.
Anyway, rules will be rules... It is just a matter of time before they will start nabbing bloggers who do not remove the MP3 from their blogs and make them pay a hefty sum for the infringement.
I have removed mine, have you?
